Allan H. Steenhusen
President and Chief Executive Officer

A graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, Allan has over forty years' experience in the fields of preservation planning and restoration. Prior to joining JMA in 1973, he served as architect for the Historic American Buildings Survey and, subsequently, for the National Register of Historic Places.

During his tenure with JMA, he has directed over one hundred projects, ranging from master plans for historic sites to community revitalization plans, building restorations, historic structure reports, and public improvement projects. Although Allan's present role focuses much of his attention on the operations of JMA, he also remains active in project management.
